"Sharvi! It is time for your medicine."

Sharvi, hand on mouth shouts : " I WANT TIME OUT !!!! " (apparently, scaring her with time out isn't going to work anymore)

Aarav tries something new at Tae Kwan do where he wears gear and gets kicked by another kid(bigger). At the end of class as he sits on the floor wearing his shoes,she bends down to his level and puts his hand on his cheek and asks, " Are you okay bhaiya ? Was he hitting you ? "

While eating food she randomly gets up and says, " I am going upstairs. " I said , Okay. Once upstairs she starts crying, " Where's bhaiya? I lost bhaiya. " I laughed and siad come down , bhaiya is in potty. 

Then as aarav played, she hurried takes out his current favortie toys from his hiding place and shouts, " Bhaiya. Take this. You forgot your toys. " 

Shubham has a back catch so can't play. Aarav asks, " How is your back now dad ? " S says," It will be better tomorrow." So he goes onto say, " Okay dad. Once I am done with my food I will come massage your back. " 

Traffic jam

Me at the wheel stuck in between three cars talking to my self, "Gosh! I don't think I can do this. "

Lil Sharvi, "You can do it Mama! You are strong. Use your muscles. "

Sharvi Masti

Sharvi pretended to give me bath, soap, towel, dry, hair, clothes. After confirming that I look pretty she takes my hand ans starts pulling. When I ask where are we going she says, To the market . Lets go. 

Little Sharvi - " Mama, you scold me? "

Me - " Yes, because you are not doing right things. "

Little Sharvi (with puzzled expression) - "Right thing? .. OR Left thing?"

Sharvi playing doctor

As I sit here writing, my daughter is playing doctor beside me. Giving me shots, when she realizes I am distracted, she sweetly even tells me what to respond when. Say " Ow "

Bolo haan

Sharvi wanted to open play dough to play on carpet. We both said no, play on table. She says, " Say Yes " " Say yes to playing on carpet " 😂 kuch yaad Aaya aap sabko??

Morning surprise , Wrekend fun

After days I thought to give Sharvi milk early morning so I can get some work today. Opened the door, she had the biggest look of surprise and smile with hands high up : " I'm getting Dudu already !!!!! "

Yesterday Aarav had two long sessions with me asking me ten questions each about like and what to do and not to do and history , giving me Right and wrong and absolutely correct !! Super cute ..

Rakhi still

Aarav is so excited to give sharvi her presents. He just came to make her a card too. It's so sweet that they are close so far. Well, they are the closest siblings I have seen, touchwood. They are kids afterall. Time can change things. Though I hope not. 

Aarav has been a little out of it lately. A little strong rebellion here and there. Might be we have been a bit over booked lately. What with tae kwan do, swimming, tee ball, dance for FOI and what not.

Plus the outings, and me getting the social media thing at COPI. Don't know how that will end up. Hoping for a good experience. 

They are so cute. Aarav is so good at negotiation and persistence. Sharvi so loving to all, and dainty. They cry too often but we are workign on that . 

It's tough being the little ones. Sometimes we expect too much. Sharvi was a trooper at potty training though we are yet having accidents but doing good so on the whole. She's very strong and resilient. 

They both are so very smart in their own ways. Aarav with his perception and she with how she picks things up. They both learn things so quickly and surprisingly from unknown sources ... 

I took them to the market yesterday. After aarav's dentist and story time at the library. Aarav was so good at the dentist , I was suprised. I'm so strong other wise but the thought of him in pain or uncomfortable makes me wince with the same and get tears in my eyes. They both had a blast at the library. Aarav picked up his first book the day before a Chima ninjago comic book and surfs the pages looking at the pictures. It's adorable. 

She bosses him around so much. Copies me saying chup bilkul chup, sings jungle jungle baat chali hai , beat pe booty and all the poems anywhere she can ..

She copies bhiyas,  " What " and " Whats that " so often ... n picks up his phrases and cues so quick ... 

She will follow him anywhere .. Can't stay alone though ... Aarav was better that way .. but she can't stay in a sroom by herself with all the oys in the world. She HAS to be entertained. 

I'm so excited for peppar pig toy coz she loves all thsoe things, peppa pig, swings and slides.. Aarav tried to tell her in the morning that she had a surprise coming but she didn't et it luckily .. I think he was trying to manipulate me into giving the toys to her earlier .. HE was pretty good with the surprise so far ... 

We went swimming at the cobblestone park and it was awesome ... Have to go again .. He's asking already and she wants to go swimming every day ... LOVES bath .. He loves she hates.

She eats, he has to be cajoled.

She bathes, wants to , he runs away .

She wants to brush, he doesnt. 

She wants to dress up . He couldn't care less ... 

Hahaha. Salt and pepper indeed. Love them to bits.

Rakhi Day

Aarav wishes Sharvi and hugs her which as always she returns.

Me : Sharvi say, " Happy Rakhi, bhaiya. "

" Happy Rakhi Bhaiya. "

Me : Sharvi say, " You are an awesome bhaiya. "

" I awesome. "

Me : Sharvi say, " You are a great bhaiya. "

" I great. "

I try again : Sharvi say, " I am princess. "

" I princess."

Me : Say, " Bhaiya awesome. "

" I awesome princess. "

And we all laugh and laugh and laugh as it goes ...

Best mom

"you are the best mom. ", says Aarav.

I laugh, happily and say, "why do you say that ?"(Ofcourse fishing for some compliment 😜)

" Every mom is the best mom and you are a mom so you are the best !! " ( awwww ... )

Saw a movie from the 2nd row in theatre after almost a decade.... What an experience!! In other news, Inception is incredible food for thought .... Saw a houseful theatre after ages

NY, Potty Training and Doggy Talk

New york trip was really good. We saw the imaination playground, the pearl playground, the times square, the central park, the fountain in front of , the battery park and play ground and splash area and loads of eating out ... Not worrying about cooking and cleaning was awesome relaxation. It's a wonder it's hard to get back to routine. 

Potty training sharvi and poor thing is NOT enjoying peeing or pooping. It's not the sitting that's the problem as much as the action. It's only day two so long way to go. 

Aarav says today. " Can we get a dog? " I know how to talk dog. I said how? He says bow, bow. I said the day you start speaking hindi, you can get a dog . " He replies thats so much work. I replied, " You don't want to work to get dog then how will you take care of dog. " " But I already know how to speak dog and spanish ... 

I told sharvi today, " you eating is what makes me happiest, do you know that ? " She pat replies, "  Iknow that . " 

She dances really well these days. Thumkas and going back and forth. Aarav dances well too but seems like his interest is waning. I hope not though.

Saw a boy sitting in a shopping cart wearing Captain America costume. Aarav says," Hi, Captain America!" The boy jerks up shocked beyond belief and starts asking his mom repeatedly, " How does that boy know me? How does he know my name ? " :))) Aarav and I burst out laughing. Don't think will ever forget that expression of disbelief ....

Week wihtout shubham

Last week without shubham and we have been so busy. We played t ball, stayed in the garage as kids collected taxes in the form of grapes as they cirled around on their cycles.

We have been going to parks, shopping, library. Yesterday for dad/s birthday we had playdate with preschool friends. IT was great fun then we had pizza and after nap went to kohls and target.

Sharvi loves sliding down legs. She makes a horse of one leg and then slides down it too. 

Aarav and She have been busy crafting and painting respectively too. They enjoy it so. 

I was telling aarav lets exchange sharvi for a little brother and he said no,  brothers can end up arguing but im good with sisters. I love sharvi only . Please dont send her back to doctor. 

Aarav makes it a night to remember

You are worlds best mom so I want to sleep with you .. The most lovey docey he was feeling ever ... Valentine's card while i was sleeping at the door and kisses and hugs and awe and u are my best friend before sleeping ...

Sharvi got her first time out for scribbling all over her toy.. The short pen before was was scratching her bro ... She's gotten a little too pampered these days a, gotten away with distracting us easily each time we try to scold her . Shes too adorable for words and very sick teething and cold and maybe growth spurt too ..

Prayer

Sharvi turns 2

Twenty four months and now she turns two,
From having a bright morning
To doing everything her brother does
Screaming me too, me too.
From wanting to eat by herself
To making every toy perform on " Five little monkeys "
From squirming in our arms to get away
To dancing to any music she hears
From saying " Okay mama "
To " r u okay ? " if we get hurt
Learning new words every day
And singing at the top of her voice
To being awestruck with " Look !!! " at anything new
If things don't go get way she pretends to cry or hide with closed eyes
Or just does a mini dhanrna by planting her bum on the floor silently protesting
She sings he abcs, poems, counts and reads off whatever she can...
She loves her family in her way
And says " oh my goodness " , " awesome ", " I want to drive " , " me ride " ( going on park rides by herself )
She sits for her milk in her corner waiting patiently till it comes
She wakes up a million times at night
She's stubborn, lovable, caring, gives the best hugs with " awwe, thank you "
And enjoys her pleases, thank you's and your welcomes !!

Gardening

The weather was great over spring break. Potted 7,8 plants and now watching the freezing weather endanger their well being. After all the hard work I put into them, it's really hard. 

Can't wait to work on the patio garden. Watiing for the weather to warm up to put in the weed killer first. 

Cycling

Aarav finally started cycling yesterday. First I told him he will get three candies for each circle, then once he did that ( only two ) , after that I told him will put a bat logo on his cycle once he learns how to ( which really got him going into TRAINING ) and then today I told him I'll take videos and lets see how long he can cycle and he did pretty good.He even stopped mid cycling to go in the Bat House and work on his computer  Now this is all in the garage. Let's c how he does in the real world once the weather cools down. 

Give her back ??

I told Aarav if he doesn't share and is nice to his sister I will have to give back Sharvi to doctor and he responds with " but mom , you can't do that. Babies are very important to a family. They are so nice "

"And what do I tell Doctor if he asks me if he brother is taking care of her ? "

" you say nothing. It's a secret . "

Spring break 2016

Spring break = cooking , entertaining two kids, park, jumpology, dollar store, chick fil a , experimenting with sambharwadi, back yard, organizing cupboards, cleaning , Zumba and repeat... Four days still left !!!

Challenge should u accept it

So I guess inspired by watching me organize Easter egg/scavenger hunt, Aarav creates one for me - " your challenge is to find all the imaginext superheroes and surprises hidden in the house in all the time given to you " lol !!! It was actually very exciting !!!

Proudest

He's lying in bed next to me. I have just read him a Shiva Vs Arjuna story from amar chitra katha and a book about birds. 

He's leafing through Ben 10 book that Danny gave him before leaving. He looks at me, 

" Mom do you remember at saachi's house Danny gave me all these books and many of his toys to play with ? " 

I said, " Yes ."

He says, " That was very nice of him. " 

I say, " Yes it was ... " 

He says , " It's really nice thing he did. I want to do something nice for him too. What do you think I can do for him when we meet next ? " 

.... My heart wells up ... My eyes well up... That's My BOY !! 

I reassure him that we gave him lovely going away presents when he left and he feels really happy ... :) And goes off to sleep after closing the book himself.

Amusing amusing

So Sharvi has become a little ninja. She writes on walls without me knowing when and how she did it. I turn a corner and it's right there. I was bathing and Aarav shouted, " Mama " I shouted what ? He said nothing and let it go. 

I came out and he says, " Look mom, what Sharvi did . She did it with this . " He shows me a pencil which sharvi has used to write all over my cupboard wall. Exasperated I tell her to come out of the room. 

She does and aarav says, " Next time she does this I'm gonna break this pencil . " Hahahaha. Like father Like son.

Sharvi says, " are you kidding me ? " on everything thats new.. Fairly great use of new vocabulary.

" Angry " for when we don't do what she wants.

" Hug " hugs then says " Haaaaawwww"

She mimicks everything aarav does and says and loves dancing to " Tukur tukur " copying aarav's dance steps and " kar gayi chul " " heer toh badi sad hai " and many songs. so far they both love dancing, specially together ...

Shubham was out of town and aarav kept asking when will dad coming ? then night before he prays and tells God , " Please bring dad home " and next morning he asks me " why didn't god answer my prayer ." :)))

Aarav loves when Sharvi lies in his lap and watches tv ... he thinks its very " cute " ....

Aarav has started using air quotes ... i think thanks to super hero programs ... but it's extremely amusing to see those hands go " ting ting " on the randomest thing , often rightly used ... :))

Sharvi said aditi first time yesterday... Daddy aditi it seems. :)

We were hit by snowstorm Jonas past two day. It's the biggest snow storm that I've seen so far. What an adventure it is even just looking at it from indoors.

So cute when the boys, aarav and ryan our neighbor have playdate, are super excited and sharvi starts shouting .. " calm down , calm down " :))) after screaming hi , hi , hi multipule times

Yesterday we were dancing on manma emotion and I showed Sharvi a video of man doing hip hop and she started copying it going down on floor and trying to twist and turn like him 😜video is on shubhams camera
