Highlight - Italian Cooking

Five days , hmmmm... I saw Valkyrie and I'm lost since then... somehow Iwonder what my purpose is ...

Anyways, past few days have been un eventful. I cooked Italian - Chicken Parmigiana with Spaghetti, with home made sauces and sweet and sour chicken for lunch the next day . Have been enjoying mangoes lately , with one every night ... Yesterday it was pav bhaji, and few days back was sweet corn soup. Dinners are light these days ... So it's all good. Spent yesterday reading with music flowing in the house and me dancing in the evening ....

Shubham's Red Lacoste shirt has been causing a lot of problems and I feel so bad when there's such waste. Sorted 3 loads of clothes today . I need to go shopping for summer wear so am browsing stores checkign out bargains ...

These days I find myself thinking back to days which have meant a lot to me ... In my head, I write over and over again a blog about the happy moments of my life ...

Shubham bought new speakers over the weekend and is thoroughly enjoying them ... We started Netflix again and I'm truly enjoying it to the fullest !! IN US you so have to figure thigns out with time, as to what makes the most monetarily ... n netflix is Gooood !!!

Saw House, Smart People, Don't Mess with the Zohan, Love in the Afternoon, Kalyug ... I so wanna go for a swim and have a wonderful weekend now .. Tonight I may think of making chat maybe or turai bhaji :)

CCI Function and Lots more

The past few days have been just wonderful , touch wood, touch wood. Started on Thursday with us taking out Cedric's wife Emy and Danny their lil boy. We went out for pizzas, had a nice long walk at the same time and then went for choclate fondue . Had it for the first time and the strawberries and cheese cake bites were the best. We had a good laugh looking at the EXPENSIVE menu with it's 1000 $ wines and it's 50 $ entres . Have they even heard of recession ?? lolzzz. Anyways, we only going to go there for the fantabulous deserts . Who can afford such exhorbitant prices. Not even I was a millionair, well, which I'm not ;p hehehe

The next day, Shubh came home early and we went swimming again. So it's been 3 times I've gone in the passst week and it's so much fun. Have tanned like crazy though :( but it's so much fun , just can't resist. And such good exercise too . So past week have been alternating between walks , doing my reading in the balcony , exercising at home, and swimming .. Aaah ! What life ! After the swim, I so wannted to have something spicy and out of extreme tiredness fell asleep just like that, when Shubham make me the most amazingly spicy Aloo curry. It was fantabulous to be woken up with a meal prepared and then not having to deal with the mess later ( I did the day after, but a day once a year doesn't hurt right ? ;) I took 2 days off :p )

These days we get up by 7, 8. I'd been having bad dreams so that was an added reason but I think we are just growing up. :D hehehe. Next day we got up early and Shub went to get the car registrated and then we went out with Arther and Ka for the Chinese Buffet at Super Kings. It was amazing the varitey they have at such low prices and Nothing felt heavy after eating. Was a wonderful meal. Oliver was a handful though all along, cryign all the time, which had Shub upset since he so loves joking around with Arthur but later when during bowling the little tyke took a nap, Arthur was back to his original self :D and Shub was happy. The bowling was another suprise. I lost miserably in the first round and Shubham won and in the second I won :D HOws that for irony ??? I guess everyone got tired by the second round but I did get 3 strikes for a change, so I'm happy with my little win as I hardly win anything :( :))

What is it with babies ? I wonder if we were as bad. Danny and Oliver cried so much that it's scary, not to mention heart breaking and loud. Their poor lungs :( I only hope that our children ( God Willing ) are like us when they grow up. I dont remember mom Ever saying me as being stubborn or cranky . And Shubham I dont think by Mummy's stories was either. I wish i can be like them :D maybe then it'll be a little easier ;)

That evening , we did our weekly indian grocey shopping and got mangoes . And in the night I watched Khalnayak and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Still smile at the same scenese :D Saw the song " Lo chali main " and got excited about Vishu's wedding, after all me too becoming jethani ;) :)) Then at night we had yummy home made pani puri ... slurp !!!

Next morning called moms and dads , and had a wonderful talk with Mummy about the wedding plans and such . Spoke to masi too and told her how she was scolding me in my dreams. I wonder why I still dream of her like that :)) IT's been sooooooooooooo long :p hehehe. But she was a sport about it and didn't mind my little teasing ...

After that we went for the CCI function thingi which was such a disaster in so many ways. It was an actual wedding like. They had hardly practiced or planned or organized. Only thing that was decent I think was our synchronization during the dances and how good Shubham looked in his kurta pyjama... But it was good experiance, met a lot of new people and I thoroughly enjoyed the stage perfomance. I imagined dad sitting in the audience stroking his moustache :)) and mom filming it. Lets c when we get the photos :( Got to eat Indian chinese and Aloo chat also ... so over all , not bad for us atleast. They forgot to take my name in the end :( but considering it all, I guess it was just as well :))

Now we both are exhausted and me updating my books blog and all. Did I mention the canal place we went for a long walk two weeks back ?? It was a surprisingly good day and we had fun exploring new places in the hopes of finding the right thing. Another adventurous day in the chronicles of ShubAdi. Rest in the pics for June 09 :)

Different Strokes

Again, nothing much to report. I've been going swimming and walking regularly and feeling pretty good. Didn't go today though, it's very hot ! Yesterday, tried schezwan fried rice. Wasn't perfect but not bad either.Evenings have been having light, like poha, salad, garlic bread, and roasted sweet potato. The water feels so good when you go swimming, but no fun without Shubham.

Have been tryign to read a few books like Life of Pi or Some kind of Miracle or Kiss them Goodbye but just can't actually read them. They just don't appeal to my senses and I can't get a grasp on the context.

Saw the movie, Underworld 3 yesterday. Was ok, nothing great. The special effects were pretty good though, as always ...

Today a memory came to me. Of the first day I came to the Hamptons. The house was such a mess and there was the new house smell all around, and as I entered I was amazed at how unlived an empty house feels like . I spent the night upset with a hurting throat, as I was coming down with a cold ( thanks to the people with colds around me on the plane ) . I tried to turn on the microwave to heat up the water and it just wouldn't start, so I woke up Shubham who was of course upset that I was troubling him in the night and poor thing in sleep also told me how to start it. Next day , we got up late n Shubham took me around in the car to show me Richmond and Glen Allen. And I was scared as everything looked big and spacious. So different from Jersey. The sun shown into my eyes and we went and got throat drops from the pharmacy and then we went home and I slept for 3,4 hours. I was so upset those months in kuwait and the days after I came back.

Richmond didn't turn out to be so bad and we've made a few more friends and it's all good, so far . And now I love this house so much, it's the best one I've ever been in. And Shubham says we may move next year but I so don't wanna leave and wanna share this apartment with our family at least and it's where i want to .. u know ... :) Well, time brings what's best for u and I guess what's next will be just as good ! I hope ...

Lets c what comes next ... Today, I'm quite nervous about the blog competition I've taken part in. It's not a very big deal but right now, some how means a lot to me ... just a sign of I'm good enough ... at what I'm dedicating my days to these days ...

Holiday State Park & Fake Wedding

Been two weeks. Don't know about the week before that but last week was me being sick again. Am totally pakaoed of this new problem since I've been back.

Anyway probably wasn't must to write about and I was exhausted from the party, blogging on my writing sites and such. God alone knows !

Saw the movies " What happens in Vegas" and " Madagascar 2 " and " Paul Blart " and " Taken ", in the past two weeks, me thinks. Now that I've got the Chronicles am feeling bad about the past few days being hazy. hehehe. Nothing new na ? To be lazy with activities you have to maintain ? :)

Well, what's new ?

Hemen had come friday night. So the days before that between falling sick cleaned up the house and re arranged things a bit, here and there. He had sent Shubham a Saki bottle last week which Shubham was really happy to get.

The 3 of us drove to James River Park yesterday. Early morning did an oil change for the car and mean while had brunch at " SilverDiner " . Reminded me of when mom, dad and karan had gone with us to the same branch of diner in Washington. Been ages since we went to a diner, and it was Really good food. Then we drove the 2 hourst to the park, reaching there by 2 only to be told that it's not safe to try canoeing by ourselves and that the river was running quite fast. First the lady at the counter tried to convince us , then we had the park ranger talking to us. We got Really scared and thought it's better to be safe and just go back. As a ditch effort, I asked him if there was a park near by whre we could go swimming and to our Immense relief he told us about the Holiday park.

We were so frustrated by this time, that anything and everything was having us laughing, for we were half assuming that the next park would have been a biggerp popat :)) We made of everything we saw.

We reached the path and then all the way dawn, I prayed to God to make the day better :)) Shubham said it was too late to pray to which I replied, He's God ! He can do Anything .... :) And lo and behold, we reached there and on asking the park rangers there till what time would the park be open and he said 7. We went down to the beach and there was boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and All the Shibang !!

And We all let out a sign of relief. We took a fishing boat, which was basically an electic boat like a aluminium tub. But it was So much fun rowing. First I went and made the boat go round and round :)) and then Shubham and Hemen had their hand. We all had a wonderful time trying all permutations and combinations and me learning how the oars actually worked. Shubham wasn't even willing to give the motor a try coz he was so gleefully happy to be rowing ...

Then once the hour was almost up, Shubham parked the boat and we went off swimming. I'd got a change of clothes for shub and myself and we had an amazing time in the lake. I made my first jump into water 5 feet deep and it was fantabulous. Shubham and Hemen went into the deeper waters to try jumping and that was fun too. Then we had a hold your breath competion. Me - 24 secs, Hemen - 23 and Shubham 27 :)) I even taught shubham how to swim ;) :)) and we dunked each other and did some acrobatics :)

After that Shub and I refeshed, changed and we all had some snacks from the food bar. Sitting at the ttable in the shade eating, we had a good time laughing at shubham's imagination at how good and economical it would be to take a tin tub into the water. If someone came to catch us, we'd just open the tub bottom and go under , submarine style . :))

Once dry, we had drove back home, which seemed a much lesser time some how and then went to Chllis where there were drinks and amazing food as always .... ME had fish , which wasn't so good but Hemen and Shub had a good time :) Hemen's fiance called. Her leg's broken and he was teasing her about fasting to lose weight. He's sure now that with the way he is , she'll have a lot of support when she comes here ... They seem to be doing good , in their own way.

Mathew's wife delivered a baby boy. Their family and they are debating about the name. Dad's birthday was today. We called late :( and heard about the beggar lady who got dad a cake and refreshments when he gave her 100 and then he ended up giving her 500. Such is the karma of goodness !

Today, we went for the Indian Wedding practice. Met a lot of new people. Lets c how it goes from here. It was pretty much a mess with Everyone givin their own opinions and ideas, of how it should all be done ! Lets c how it goes next weekend. I'm hoping it's not a mess how weddings usually end up being :)) The food taht Meera aunty served was simply U.Pish delicious. Got to hear a lot of typical U.P accents after years. :) which was pretty cute ! The dance we did was on Aagre ka Ghagra , which was totally impromptu and I felt out of place but eveyron else was happy with what we came up with. So lets c.

Spent the evening, at Borders reading recipes of all different kinds . Got some new ones . Shubham was checking otu the consumer reports and funnily all the restraunts we love just don't get good a good rating. Shows the difference between american and our thinking, I guess...

Well, we both exhausted now. After updating this , will go check my blogger site. Am really ahppy with the story I wrote for the Bloggerati contest. Lets c what the resutls end up being .
