Silver Lining this New Years Eve

I was pretty upset today evening after Aarav got 103.9 fever.. First with worry then the sadness that the cozy party with Uttara planned tomorrow got cancelled .. Not that it was a great plan but hey ... some thing was better than nothing ... and me wanting to celebrate everything this pinched ... the last day of the year needs to be commemorated .. where others are going to dance parties ... ( so sue me .. :D )

But then I went onto the hallmark site and saw a post titled " So this happened ... " about a lady  who had the worst possible YEAR of sickness and sadness and relatives passing away ... and I was like I'm so blessed and had a wonderful year with great vacations and sharvi growing so beautifully .... Wat do I have to be sad about ?

Besides, it's exciting that I penned down the first draft of the story line of my " upcoming ? " book ... That's pretty exciting in itself I guess ... Atleast I seem to be having direction where I was like a headless chicken .... :p Bad pun ...

Anyway , much to be thank ful for always ... may it always be so ...

Sibling forgiveness / Proud mom

So , Sharvi is being a baby who Really manipulates these days ... The other day she started making a real mess etting into aarav's stuff  and shutting the door with a bang and I told their Dad to give her a time out ... and Aarav comes to me slowly , near the train table and says softly , " Mom she's too young to get a time out ... Just tell her no , she won't do it again ... "

THe next day she starts pushing him out of the tricycle when I shout on her. He looks blankly, as she starts crying and sits down and I tell her , she " No pushing . Bad !! " He looks at me and his dad, gets up from the cycle and tells her , " Sit down Sharvi .. "

Today Aarav was diagnosd with Strep ... ruining the little plans we had but his main concern is Doctor has said Sharvi has to stay away from me ... :)

He took his medicines nicely today ... As I told him that medicine is the armor and weapons of the good germs in your body to fight the bad germs ...

The other day, I told him ... to be strong he has to eat all foods .. How would he learn to read if he only knew few letters of the alphabet ?? Same way, he has to eat all foods to make himself strong .... Proud of my metaphors or allegaries.. Not sure which one they are ... I'm specially touched that he ate his medicines like a real big boy ...

The other day I asked him, " What will make it exciting to sleep in your room aarav ? " HE says , " you .. " I said, other than me , what thing will make it exciting ? He replies, " Dad .. " I said , " bit your are big boy now ... so he responds well , my dreams will become bad if I'm alone in the room to sleep ... " :p

Parenting si such a two edged sword I tell you ...

" So do you think you are big enough to make your decisions . Do you know how to see weather ? "

" yes I go out and look "

" do you know what kind of foods to eat"

" hundreds to be strong . I told you it's not that I don't love you. You don't let me do what I want to do"

Purse

Started using a new purse today. And Aarav notices it and says where did you get new purse , I'm like I bought it for my self... He's like its cool ! Good choicev😳😎

They both have taken one phone each and are pretend talking to you .
arav is actually having a conversation saying dad daaaad listen , oka the party is blah blah and then we will blah blah

As I was pulling out he was saying I'm already missing dad... My family is broke 😍😘😂😟

Aarav

The ohter day, aarav holds my face in his palms and says , " Mom we will ask dad .. If he says okay I will take u to kuwait , if not then I will take care of you so that you don't miss your mom ... and guess what ? it's a secret but dad and sharvi will come wiht us too .. "

His fav friend in school these days in Noah .. Apparantly Coleman and ty aren not to be played with as they want him to be guard and he wants to be captain.

He gives me daily news of all things happening in school.

He has started eating many more vegetables and food.

He is very adamant about dressing up ... Pretedcing with jackets and such asking often how he looks ... imagination runs wild all day long ..

Every little thing sets him off but it's getting better after we told him now that if he gets angry for the silliest thigns ,like clothes, or sticky hands we will throw his hotl wheels away ...

He loves EVERYONE equally ... He applies logic to everything ... Even when he calls me mean ... but understands when I show him all that I did for him all day long ...

He is a handful some moments and other moments a perfect gentleman and amazing support ...

He loved today as I cleaned up dad's closet and didn't once say to go to park when I said we are doing this for dad and said , " Job well done ! " with a magnificient high five after all is done ...

He loves Sharvi and takes good care of her , being very careful with her ... The perfect baby sitter :)

Sharvi 18 months

So two weeks past Sharvi finally started walking . She's grown ten fold in the past week itself.

She says, mooo, weooww, baaa, bow bow on the animals...

Asks everyone " Hellow , Howru " says, " Bye ."

If you say " Bhaiya kahan hai, " she proceeds to play peek a boo.

Does, " Uh uh " on wanting something and nods her head vehemently to say no ... Since two days she's even started screaming , " N N No .. "

She sings, " twinkle twinkle " , " A B C " , " Bingo " and many poems along with the tv ...

She climbs every possible space ...

She loves to eat by anyeone's hand but mine ...

She loves the lullaby , " Nanhi pari " just like me ... :)

She's nudges Aarav out of my lap with her butt when she sees him sitting on my lap.

She loves saying , " apple "  " Ball " " Chanhiye "

Her fav poem is " When you are happy and you know it .. She claps, stomps and screams hurray respectively ... giggling crazily after ..

She loves driving the car, saying bye as soon as we put her in ...

She will be content as long as I'm sitting but if I stand she wants me dancing around with her ...
 

Sibling Love

Shubham called from NY. Sharvi as usual scrambled for the phone. I didn't let her talk on the phone and she got really upset.

After that she would only eat dosa from Aarav's hand. I felt sad. Even Aarav felt shocked that she would eat from his hand and not my hand.

Then he comes to me and says, with his little hand on my shoulder, " Mama, we all love you. Sharvi is just angry right now. She loves you too. "

Aarav lay down upside down the sofa, half off it. Then starts shouting, Sharvi come save me ... !!!! Sharvi waddles over to him, holding his tow hands in her own and pulls him down. As he slides down, she ooooohs , " Oh  oh " and then proceeds to kissing his head, his hands ... and trying to hold him :))

Rain story

The rain started falling. Aarav and sharvi were playing outside when it started to rain. The rain went from small drops to fast and sharvi ran away from it and Aarav started laughing . Then puts her hand into the rain and in the cutest sing song voice says, " Ray ray o way. " as surprised as I was proud and happy to see them enjoying their first rain Together ... They both got wet and dirty and had a blast !!

Sharvi dances, doesn't walk

Hi. Guess what ? Sharvi doesn't walk, she dances. When a song comes on that she likes she walks around the drawing room. Otherwise she sways to music and taps her feet standing.

Sharvi Aarav Big Day

Aarav had his first class of tae kwan do and Sharvi climbed down the stairs.

Amazing day. Got up. A little time to myself , then sharvi woke up , breakfast and then treadmill, then went out with the kids to target . Came back and shubham got p f changs ( had to come home coz sharvi slept in the car ) then viled away time on website then gardened, played with kids outside home. Went to tae kwan do class. Master gave a free private lesson for a few minutes seeing how aarav was upset his class wasn't actually satrted today which he enjoyed immensely.

THen went to park where sharvi played in play ground for first time. Then went to chick fil a then came home and played and to our surprise sharvi climbed down stair case three times ... Video for reference :D then time for sleep ...

I wrote blog material, yet to post. And now time to sleep. Awesome !!

Sharvi Samachar

Sharvi sings yay yay after I sing ba ba black sheep .. In sing song.

She says ha ha ha after Johnny Johnny.

She says a for Apple and thinks anything round can be a ball or an apple.

She tries to feed Aarav when then snack together saying Aaa then forcing it on him.

She laughs when we laugh thinking something hilarious is going on.

She points at the fan and giggles.

She kicks her legs out and bangs her hands down in protest.

She says daddee till he looks at her .

If we are around she will play contently but else cribs all the time

She uses, yup uses iPhone and scrambles for it the minute it is placed down.

Today

Day started out super lethargic and with headache but Advil and coffee later I taught Aarav his preschool stuff, played angry birds on Roku and then had lunch and then after putting sharvi for nap worked 3 hours non stop on my website ( finally can call it that ) while talking to Sajini about her ridiculous itinerary for US. Then after sharvi woke up danced really like old times with sharvi jumping along side and then had chicken burgers with jhalak dikhla ha and then worked on website some more before Sleeping.

In other news we have finally started investing a little and today I fell down laughing twice in a day . First while asking Shubham if staying at home makes him feel that the world outside has changed too much and he can't go out and figure out which notebook he wants . The second time when I shifted side to side avoid him coming to tickle me which Aarav enjoyed immensely.

Take me Home - Chicago

On our last day in Chicago, I feared how Aarav was going to react the next day on gong back home. In bed as we got ready to sleep, I thought to try a different track . I said, " Tomorrow we will go home. "

Aarav : " I don't want to . "

Me: Don't you miss Saachi ? your home ? Toys ?

Aarav : " Tell Saachi to also come to chicago . "

This wasn't going well . I changed my track . The pretend crying started.

Me : But I'm missing my home. My bed. My books. My house . I want to go homeeeee ... .

Aarav ( totally stressed ) : Don't wory mom ! I will take you home. We will go home tomorrow.

Me : Really .

Aarav : Yes ! ( smiling . )

Me : Yaaaaayyyyy ...

Aarav ( taking my face in his tiny hands ) : Are you feeling better now mom ?

Me  ( feeling super guilty as all hell by now ) : Yes, thank you .

I'll always ... Aarav

Not much for melo drama, but after a really scary jump by Aarav I told him to be very careful. Out of character , I told him. " Baby , if you get Oww, I feel bigger ow " I guess he was super touched because with great feeling , he hugged me in response and said very lovingly, " I will always take care of you mom, you , Daddy and Sharvi. "

Sharvi's First Steps - 2 Aug 2015

We were at Emy's empty house and the kids were enjoying it to the fullest. Tired Sharvi came and lay down and me and then following Aarav she stood up . He turned around and came on my lap and in a bid to follow him, she took three steps . I howled and hugged Aarav and her and then she looked amazed at her own foot holding it and staring at it. :o

She's incredible really. These days she called me Babo and Shubham Dada. I think she's not said Mama in two months now :( She shakes her head vehemently no if she wants to say no to food or anything really. She pushes people away and climbs onto places not knowing how to get down. The red chair, the yellow chair, staircase. Little dare devil she is.

Since two days now she claps on " If you're happy and you know it clap your hands " and laughs the prettiest smile if i sing realy fast. And since yesterday she's started making " Ah Ah Ah " sounds on Johnny Johnny. She laughs at just the right places.

She loves eating yogurt after any meal. She doesn't like pizza and chocklate much. She loves watching T series hut and mickey mouse now. Chu Chu tv and super simple are too simple now. :p She has made it such that using my iphone or ipad is like a big mission impossible for me.

Sharvi's first steps

Yesterday that is August 2nd 2015 At emy's house at Yorkminister sharvi took her first three steps. Got big hugs from me and Aarav and then stared at her foot as if what did this just do ??

Sharing and learning

Aarav is so good at sharing so far. Touch wood. Always takes two things to play coz he knows she will take one from him. And gives whatever she wants and doesn't get angry if she spoils his things that he makes even .

And she picks up stuff so fast from him . She knows to put dhakkan, put things in box, put super heroes in their vehicles, rain goes on tracks, etc.

She just loves playing with whatever he plays exactly as he plays, even putting blocks together.

She tried to start taking out shoes from shoe rack but when I said no pushed it back. Smartie chand !!

Train Train

It takes lot of effort to put working track together . Shubham makes track and aarav plays super heroes on it. If sharvi comes and Shubham panicks coz she loves to remove the tracks and put them in box aarav says, " it's okay daddy, she just wants to play."

Night Adventures

So the fight to get aarav to sleep in his bed continues. Was restless night for me yesterday. Apparantly for Aarav too ... He Came at 1 am , I told him to go back to bed, he went. Then he came back at 3 am . I told him to go back to bed. After back and forth he sat down on the side of the bed, in deep thought. I asked him why he couldn't sleep in his bed, he said " wallks are wiggling . " then i asked him, they are not willing , please go to bed. " Okay lets go in time out. He says no no . And ofcourse I don't take him, coz I'm too tired. " then he have a stale mate for a while after which i ask him what's going on , " He says, " close your eyes and go to sleep amma. " I said, " what will u do after I sleep . " he replie ," i will get into your bed. "

Then again after we are lying in his bed , after some back and forth and me tryin to get him to close his eyes, he says , " look, the walls are wiggling ... " I reply , " No, they aren't .  I can't see it. " He replies, " thats coz u aren't wearing glasses. "

Sharvi ... Adi

Since morning Aarav is talking to Sharvi saying Adi , Adi , Adi .. Couldn't figure out what he was saying and why. Turns out he was repeating Edi .. as in ankle form the hindi app.

Sharvi is so amused by dad and Aarav making towers of and dropping bounty. Laughs no end ...

I think Sharvi says Adi to water now :D

Captain America Shocked .. Aarav Rocked

Saw a boy sitting in a shopping cart wearing Captain America costume. Aarav says," Hi, Captain America!" The boy jerks up shocked beyond belief and starts asking his mom repeatedly, " How does that boy know me? How does he know my name ? " :))) Aarav and I burst out laughing. Don't think will ever forget that expression of disbelief ....

Sharvi Sharvi Sharvi - just turned ONE

Every time I sit to write about you, something comes up. It's not because I don't love you. It's because you keep me on my toes.

You eat EVERYTHING, go EVERYWHERE, climb EVERYTHING, touch EVERYTHING. And refuse to learn the word NO. You argue saying " Oooooooo " or Mamu, or Babu " instead.

Your words have grown to Mama, Mamu, Babu, Oooo. Oh Oh when anything goes wrong. you understand idhar aao, baith jao, nahi karo.

You hit back or move people that come in your way.

You make sure we are looking or talking to you by making our face actually FACE you.

You do NOT let me talk on the iPad and iPhone becoz according to you , they are urs that you LET me use .. i think .... what other plausible reason for those buckets of tears when i don't give them to you????

You do NAOT let me feed you, preferring to feed yourself then me , then let me feed you in that order.

You love sauce.. any sauce, spicy food. You enjoy eating... and that brings me so much joy after your bhaiya's pickiness.

You have only recently, maybe a week ago when you have just turned one started enjoying shopping ... sitting in the car, enjoying watching bhaiya and me. Before that the only way I could get u to sit still was by feeding you constantly .

You HATE HATE men .. but as soon as you turned one the tendency is little lesser .  now you only cry when they deign to address you directly.

IN the market, you WANT ladies, girls , kids to look at you and talk to you. You call everyone mama.

You love when bhaiya who you call daddee makes you laugh by throwing things around.

You love when he comes to your room to play with you early morning or late after noon when mom wants to lie in bed for a few more mins.

You love icecream, avacadoes, choclate, pizza, blue berries none of which suit your tummy.

You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dancing... specially  on the song Baby Doll from a b grade horror flick. :p

You wave your hand up and down when someone says BYE BYE

Your eyes light up when you see bhaiya dad or me ( in the mornings or when it's time for bed :p )

You laughed out loud and clapped your hands when daddy came down the stairs one way when you were getting bored in the high chair..

You love to clap your hands.

You fall down sometimes even while crawling.

You cry dramatically even when it's your own fault that you got hurt..

You Love chu chu tv and nursery rhymes and watching songs.

You dance on advertisements even .. if they are peppy enough .

You DONT like bhaiya crying. You try to get him to stop by coming close and patting him.

You follow bhaiya and dad around everywhere.. You won't even come to me if they are present.

You smile lights up the room ... just like bhaiya's .. :) cliched but true ..

You are very clingy and NEED to havep oeple around you ..

You seem to think the world revovles around you and you are a diva in the true sense of the word.. and I'm already so proud of you .

The lack of noting of firsts is not because we don't love you. It's becase I'm busy revolving around you. The rest of time, I sleep... Muaaaaahzzzz

Aarav Super Hilarious

After saying his pleases and thank you he goes on to say, " God says such good care of us, we have to subscribe to him. "

While I'm talking to Jasleen on the phone he says, " Aare you talking to Jake from state farm ? "

I tell him aarav whole morning u ate my head about eating this or that. Now you are saying u want to watch iron man song. Stop it. Play something. He laughs out loud and says, " But mama ! that wasn't about tv, right ? "

Yesterday, he corrected my english, MY ENGLISH !!!!1 :o

He made me search for captain america saying i'm looking for iron man .. I rectified him by asking him to eat an orange which was actually an apple... :p  I win ONE

Sharvi - bhaiya n daddy

Yesterday for first time Sharvi says bhaiya ( ghaiyyaa ) and daddy ( daddhi ) intentionally ...

She's a real spit fire. Runs as soon as she sees gate to stair case open. Pushes anyone out of the way, specially Aarav if she's watching something. Growls ( that's coz of her dad ) . Makes car runnnnning sounds ( again, dad ). Loves climbing stairs, standing , throwing my phone, closing iPad. N never , well rarely listens if we say no. N then starts crying like a drama queen.

Yesterday she was prompting dad to put light on in his camera. She enters a room n remembers doors that would probably be open n tried to get to them before they get closer. She loves opening n closing doors n WillNot prefer me if dad is in the room.

That awkward moment you smile at a stranger just being nice and they mistake you for someone they have met before and proceed to have a conversation about you have no idea what and you end up just saying bye in the end coz you don't have the heart to tell them they have the wrong person !! 😝😂

Love it when

Aarav brings two glasses of water. One for me, one for him . Without me asking 😀

Sharvi standing

Sharvi has started standing on her own since a few days .She's so smart that when sitting on floor she stands talking your help and then climbs onto lap n then prods to get up.

She eats everything so far. Even at vijays house she was a good girl eating all by herself.

She loves dancing to techno beats and started to do peek a boo all by herself hiding part of her face and grinning when you say I see you .

She's getting 5-7 teeth right now so sometimes it hurts too much.

Aarav the understanding

I had a melt down of sorts. Result as I tried to put Sharvi to sleep and face time and Aarav disturbed I scremt at Aarav to sit in one place n not keep distracting Sharvi .

Once I cooled down, I looked at Aarav who was peeping over the sofa as I shook Sharvi in the bouncer and said I'm sorry . He said are you saying sorry for shouting on me ? I said yes.

He replied: it's okay. I was not sitting in one place and making noise and not letting Sharvi sleep. I was running around watching iron man, so I became iron man and war machine. Off !!!

Sharvi says dada

Just gave Sharvi a bowl of snacks and first thing she does it empty the bowl on the floor. N then she's eating off of the floor. Total daddy's girl !

She said Dada for the first time yesterday as she tried to climb over him to the window.

She raced behind Aarav as he drove his cycle around the kitchen.

She are fries n fried rice. Yesterday feasted in Peter changs.

Today was a great afternoon. Took her in back yard n the dogs barking had her crying :-))

9 months and counting

Sharvi stood one time by herself day before yesterday. Today she's 9 months. Chota baby . She walks around, crawling on tummy and following Bhaiya daddy everywhere. Eating solids, has two tiny teeth n loves to keep mama super busy. Starts jumping on Any songs . Two more teeth are coming. She says mama n gaga. GaGa is copy of Gappu Aarav calls her. And she copies Anyone coughing 😂 n loves to hear mama singing 😜 nanhi pari sone chali

Teeth. Stand. Talk - Sharvi

Sharvi got two bottom teeth last week ago . At Aaravs swimming as I played with her n let her bite my finger I discovered the adorable. After that came a full week of painful Tylenol induced late nights.

Today after swimming class we came home and she stood up just like this to get at Aaravs fries ... Awesome !!! I got so excited, screams and she fell down. Lol

She is so talkative , n communicative. Talks with us, responding to every question and comment with a well Timed huh or gaga.

Her first words were mama which she said when I was taking a nap under dad n bros supervision. N then she started saying GaGa, mimicking the Gappu !! Aarav calls her lovingly.

She's so feisty n demanding. I call her my little paint mixer!!

White shirt sprinkles with colorful butterflies,

The brown grass like layer underneath

Two fingers in the haven of the mouth

And two hints of tiny teeth

Eyes so big hearts could melt

My breath takes a wondrous gasp

You can see the process as she contemplates

The distance it would take to grasp

Wobbly body does a shiver

As her hands come down on fives with menace

She threatens to topple but then does not

Puts one knee ahead then another with no finesse

One and two steps of crawl

And then with a thud she does plummet

With razor sharp focus she slithers ahead

Ever accelerating on her stomach 

Within no time she has the prize

The rays of the iPhone setting her aglow

She uhs and uhs, fingers fiddling with nana's image

And chortles in triumph as Mama shrieks NO !!!

Sharvi First teeth

Real acrobat my girl is !! Yesterday started crawling around like Olympiad on her tummy n today took two steps on her knees. Also trying to stand using Aarav's toy box in front of tv n also had her second trip in cart at Kroger. At swimming first time say thru the whole class n as we payed I saw she's got two small teeth coming in the bottom gum :))

Shibham went back to New York and it's been a tough 18 hours with Aarav being cranky, Karan leaving Kuwait, mom dad upset, sharvi not sleeping At all !!! N toaster breaking down. But took Aarav swimming , n the kid to Kroger, came home n both fell asleep instantly. I had sushi . Lying in bed, feeling content, thinking of how sharvi took her first two steps crawling and how I felt her first two teeth, I m thankful for being able to enjoy these precious firsts with my little ones. Thank God !
