My god !! moving to new place was crazy. unpacking is crazier. thinking of the littlest thing to the mundane things that we want.

but feels great living in OUr house. just blissful! bought bed today n knick knacks. total cost of day 1000+ so exciting n scary.

right now feels like managing at a hostel or hotel :)))

Got up early for facial. Aarav had got up in middle of night thanks to eerie sensors he has when I'm not there. Came home, didn't go to buffalo wings but to mall then Costco for party appetizers. Shub dropped me home while I packed for the move n he drove around endlessly till Aarav woke up.

Got dressed, went for 'formal' party. Came home over fed, exhausted n cranky to Aarav staying up most of the night due to stomach upset which turned into a full blown cold in the morning.

Shub walked around the home with him keeping him asleep for an hour and after 2 pikes now he sleeps on me.

Poor baby. Parenting is so tough, specially when u don't know what u are doing with a lot going on around. Should have bundled him up better yesterday with the sudden weather change n Not fed him corn :(

As shubham did shopping at macys, aarav hugged and played with bangle of little girl named christy( s.i ) . He stayed away from her grandma and ma, shying away. But when she came and sat he incjhed closer and closer , first pullinf at her skirt's flowers and later hugging her. SUPERCUTE !!

Finally went to Williamsburg today. Parkway, pictures, feet in water, seeing the towns sq and on the way back - the MOST baby has cries in his 9 mnth life :( finally held him in my lap against my better judgment. Exhausted but deliciously so. Now let's c if the night brings ny sleep. I wonder how the next few days will go.

27th August 2011 - Survived Hurricane Irene / Aarav eats out

The storm hit. No power for a few hours. Filled water in tum and everything we could think of. Was freaky but just windy and rainy on our part. Had left overs for lunch and prepared for night food and next day too.

Spent the day lounging around and the next day went to see Hickson Drive. Everything was find. House looks great but little tensed about the roll over cabinets. Lets c.

Had food at Malabar and Aarav had a lot of our food - Dosa, curd rice, rice, fish etc. The start of something new.

Feeling bad for those poeple who didn't have amenities during the storm and those who lost loved ones due to tree falling on them. RiP !

25th August 2011 - Aarav Started walking

It was  a friday. Spent the morning shopping at Kohls ( clothes ;-) ) and Walmart ( for the chicken pie ).

Evening once shubham came went shopping for Hurricane Irene. Water, muffins, bagels, milk, power bars, toilet paper. etc. Came home and saw Aarakshan. Got it from vinitha whose hubby was sitting at home in the bare minimum in front of his parents . LOLzzz... Clashed into shweta, vineet and find it funny that they chose to disapper the way they have. Were nice enough in front of us though, and Vinitha just had to mention our ladies night out in front of them. Saw movie had chicken pie which was kinda weird coz of me getting the big crust and making it with milk instead of cup of sour cream. But was yummy and sweet.

As we watched movie , saw Aaram holding the red cycle and walking. :D

Y in the world do people compare babies to pets ???

Aarav stand now, trying to get to all electronics - DVD player, laptops.

Makes point of climbing up or falling head first. All over us if need be. We are just means to am end if he wants something.

Eats only when sings playing - dk Bose, dhinkachika, dheela, dhunki

When I scold him he says Aa !!! raising his hand.

He attended his first bday party thanks to Oliver, arthurs kid and had a great time.

Now a days sometimes sleeps on Shubham's shoulder.

Last night kicked me left right in tummy. Whenever he was hungry. Dreading tonight.

Inspite of it all can't imagine sleeping without him for a minute. Staying away also makes me feel like I'd miss something IMp.

Can't bekive how others leave their kids in day care.

Thursday - of changs after playing in mall

Friday - tandoori n tart at cedricks.

Sat bday party.

Sunday time at home.

He cried so much when we went to buy chicken - me n emy. As soon as reached home and rushed him into home stopped crying. Such a wilful child.

Totally twists around or falls from the rocking chair now.

When we went to lake holiday cried all the way there n in water but how he loves playing in water. Loves his baths so far .

Saturday went out for brunch at cracker barrel. Then lake holiday. Went there, aarAv crying hacve the way. After half hour in water came right out. Aarav was hungry. Then thunderstorm warning had us coming back home after loads of pics ( which made the trip worthwhile ) for biryani and movie.cedrick had got kosher wine.

Next day we did pretty much nothing but had a yummy dinner of fish, retried beams n Spanish rice.

Fish n rice Aarav had the next day.

Been 3 days if no sleep for me today.

Yesterday got news that house closing is on sept 1st. Now I'm torn between excitement n tension.

Aarav was super excited yesterday for some reason. So cute.

He's getting scolded for being bad but I think he's beginning to understand me a little.

His two teeth look adorable. But I think they hurt like HELL.

I just watched Resident while Aarav slept for one n half hour. Wish I cud have slept.

Taking him to the mall play yard now.

Need to start planning when I come back. :-)

3rd August 2011 - Started standing on 27th July

Baby had started sleeping almost thru the night getting up for feeds only but then past two nights he's gotten back to being gassy and crying. I think it's the teething.

We went grocery shopping and now he's a big boy sitting in the shopping cart itself.

After much troubles finally put up the gate. And now that the gate is up in the corridor, his all actions are concentrated in the living room.The laptop gets muted don't know how. The cd player gets opened and the cd thrown out. The lamp gets pulled (after the silver one being put in the upper room when the bulb got broken ).

He gets so startled when I call out to him to stop that I'm trying to lower my volume and try other tactics.

Getting back to cooking now little by little. Shub gets lunch some days. Parenthood is so tough but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I lvoe him to bits. He's all my love in a hug.

Memory Mania - Aarav Sleep

Shubham used to put him to sleep by shaking the bouncer and then place the bouncer in the crib. I'd spend the night shaking him whenever he fussed. Fed him when he needed, swaddling him after.

Soon as mom left, to put him to sleep used to play her voice on SHubham's black berry to put him to sleep.

Mom and I took turns staying awake. We'd sing Om Ganpataye to him as we swung him or bounced him to sleep.

When mom came, she'd take him once I put him to sleep usually around 2 or 3 am till morning bringing him to me to be fed only.

Every two hours, he' get up for his feed like clockwork. Only time he didn't was 2nd and 3rd month. NOw it's his 8th month and the 2 hours cycle continues. :( I wish he'd sleep more by now but I guess it's a vicious cycle now. Me loving to sleep with him and him habituated to be fed every 2 hours. Urgh ! Moms ! :))

19th July 2011 - Aarav's first High Chair

Spent the whole night with horrid body ache and baby's crankiness. Spent the morning trying to chillax.

Evening had a craving for Super King Buffet where Aarav sat in his own high chair for the first time. He ate puffack and buiscuits. Green beans, kur kure, ice cream and custard.

Came back gave him bubble bath and then he played till he fell asleep after which I started reading Harry Potter 7 on Ipod. Yaaay !! :-)

Day before de cluttered all the papers. Over the weekend did the kitchen and lower storage.

Time to start planning for the big MOVE ! I'm tensed but I believe thigns will eventually work themselves out. Touchwood.

13th June 2011

Saw Harry Potter today after talking to moms and dads on Shubham's new IPHONE. The world is taking a step into a new era.

For us too. First movie after Aarav was born. Wasn't as bad. Shub took him out for 15-20 mins when he got cranky and then he slept for an hour in my lap. My ass hurt but it was worth it to see the " Boy who lived " with the boy who slept. hehehe. He's such a sweetheart. Then we went to see how much 310 Hickson Dr has to. And it was amazing. Seeing OUR house for the first time, imagining how it's going to end up.

Came home, the men slept for 2 hours and I read, after daysss. " The Witness " by Sandra Brown.

Evening was spent re arranging the kitchen cabinets and throwing out stuff. Dinner was random followed by some more reading.

Tomorrow Sethi aunty is ocming home which means LOADS of cleaning and de cluttering. Sigh !!!

Aarav feeds now with his right hand holding his right foot.

Was watching tv other day when this girl is killed by mistake coz of her roommate. Such senseless death made me look at aarav and I was so scared. I guess that's what being a mom is all about. Being scared all the time for the baby.

Yesterday Ced/emy bought toyota siena van. Had a gala time eating daal, subzi, mutter paneer, parathas, rice, shrikhand and kaju rolls. Cedrick was dancing holding aarav and with danny holding his foot. I told shubham,  " If ced was  a tree, he would have taken pic long time back " :))

Life is Good !!

Aarav's tummy problems have me at my wit's end. Was crying from 5 am to 6 am when he fell asleep snuggled in my arm. I went to the other room and slept on the mattress there coz of the increasing pain in my neck.

June 2011

Shubham's dad's visit was great, I think. We had a great time hogging on different cuisines and roaming around. Tried French, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Brazilian, Mc donalds and such.

Dad and Shub went swimming and golfing.

We went to Shenandoah Cabin and had a great time which is captured in the dozens of pics we took.

Aarav had a little tough time as his all routine went bonkers. But he enjoyed with his grandpa. We would get up around 9 am, I would get ready, have bf and then go back to sleep till 11.30 ish. I'd make lunch and then we'd go back to sleep and play around 1 or 2 to 5 or 6. and then come back down and stay awake till night.

Aarav -

Had many firsts, haha and aaha moments.

He began dragging himself around at lightning speeds and pulling himself up on his knees and even legs at times to get at things. ( Did it first for Ipod playing DK Bose )

Started him on solids - peas and oatmeal/bananas. Have to make him eat by putting hinka chika or twinkle twinkle.

He drags himself up to my or anyone's feet if he wants to be picked up. Gets poeple to pick him up by looking at him and murmuring or grumbling.

Had a wonderful time playing with balloon at shweta's place which is why I took balloons to the cabin which he had a blast with.

Bought him tons of toys with hemen. They bought him the stand and rings, three balls set and the food mat.

4th July 2011

Long Weekend = Visit with Hemen and Neha whome Aarav totally LOVED !! Toy shopping, river rapids, golfing, loads of aarav time and over indulgence in food spattered with hilarious moments of madness followed by total exhaustion !!

Aarav was fascinated with neha looking and smiling at her all the time. So sweet! Felt a little jealous even, but that's me being me. It was great to have them over. Too bad aarav had a bad night last night which is why I'm totally exhasted today. But that was to be expected. Poor thing didn't have milk at all properly yesterday probably coz it was so hot and then over ate just before falling asleep at night.

Aha moments - 9th June 2011

Aarav got up cranky at 3.17 am. After usual routine of watering nose n gripe water when put on bed was wide eyed n playful. When he just twists around , passes some gas and faces away n falls asleep, kind of . :) he's still little awake now but trying real hard to go back to sleep. He's so cute. Sigh !! Love him.

Yesterday when he took the mobile and phone frm me, after laying a while put it to his ear. I was awestruck !!

After eating when he was full, he wiped his messy mouth all clean :o

When I caught hi trying to put yet another toy between the crib n bed, he smiled his Big naughty smile. And continued trying to get toys from crib and succeeded, eventually.

Now he's asleep. My angel !!

7th June 2011 - Aarav starts crawling on hands.

Dadaji helped aarav do it by putting carrot of books and letters in front of him. Aarav had a wonderful time doing it. Took video as I took video turns out aarav was coming for camera.

Went swimming. Was struggle putting aarav into swimming gear and after 10 minutes turns out aarav is cold and it's time to change him back. Urgh !! But he so enjoys the water and all. It's amazing to see him try to wade thru the water with his hands.

Made swai fish for the first time - baked and fried. :D Yummy. Gotta get some more of it ... ;-) Accompanying was garlic bread :D

Aarav was horrid coz of the gassiness at night. Slept at 5 only to get back up at 6.30 then gave up and went to sleep in the other room.

Slept till 9 and then 10 and went for walk around the society. Then came home chillaxed went out  to chipotle for lunch where I had a faux pau. Then went to see the house. Then library and finally UPS. Was a nice day. Got things done.

Evening have to cut Shubham's cake which is languishing in the fridge. Need to start looking for interior decorating tips and ideas. Lets c.

Dad said aarav's smile is like Mona Lisa's. Then I asked aarav if he did potty and Dad laughed, Mona Lisa does potty kya ? :)) 

3rd June 2011

Dad came. Had lunch of palak paneer, rajma, rice and roti with pua for shubham. Then in night went to Texas de brazil. Was awesome.

Shubham loved all the ts and shirts he got on his bday. I surprised him with macys' boxes beside the bed with fudge and candle and then in his cupboard and then on his comp chair and then on the bed and finally by coming from behind. Each box has bday wishes and a shirt inside. He was suitably happy with his budget bday and was amazed that I could manage it. Though he thought I might have stolen some and on some occasions had to hinted to the hiding places :))

Yet have to cut his cake. Tres Leche. :)

1st June 2011 - Aha Moment

Aarav is trying to go on all fours. First he'd topple over but now he bends forward on all fours for a second before falling flat in trying to reach anything.

He's running a slight fever with body ache I think since day before coz he's constantly warm and cranky. I hope it's not the fever.

Oh! And he LOVED dancing. I take him and dance around the room and he laughs and giggles like no bodies business. Love his face :D

Daddy is coming tomorrow. :)

Busy preparing/cleaning/laundering/cooking and taking care of a cranky aarav.

Told Cedemy that we buying house. They took it well and now sinking in that we ARE.

Day before aarav was banging shub's remote car with his toy. :) Fun begins ;)

He's trying to creep forward to get things. So that's new.

Spoke to Tracy online for 2 hours day before. Was great seeing Rhea crawl around. miss them. Hope to see them soon.

Shub's bday tomorrow. :D

28th May 2011 - Aarav's first time Swimming

Went swimming today to Chipacohy State Park. It was hilarious as we went swimming in a pool an hour away from home paying 15 bucks when we have a pool right beside home. Nonetheless the drive there and back was priceless and the food we picked up from the thela beside the road was great too.

The freak rain had Aarav crying his lungs out but after a while he calmed down. It was great fun in the rains though.  Aarav totally enjoyed lulling around in his green float wearing his green t and shorts and then trying to swim as he splashed his hands and legs when he was in our arms. He's exhausted and sleeping now. Though I'm not so sure how tonight's night will go. Hehe.

Came home, had the food, had a burst of energy so cleaned up everything. Now blogging then will have bath and then do some browsing or reading after some of the yummy Boston Creme Cake we got yesterday ;) Wish all days were so much fun. But ALAS !! Life has to take over usually.

Today was selections meeting. Felt great putting together the tiniest details of the house. Though the 3.5 payment had us in a tizzy for a second. Then shub came home early n aarav n I went to kroger n shubham had his haircut. Now I need to start planning for home shifting and such. So exciting.

Day before made gajar mutter and fish fry. And yesterday finally found pizza hut salad. Dinner of thyme bread, baked chicken and salad. Yumm

Didnt sleep at all day before night causing monkeys cat situation.

When I was telling Nani nana about his exploits he was smiling. And later when talking to them screamed for attention n then gave big smile with head tilt.

20th May 2011 - stroller

Deleted data from iPod after Mexican dinner n long drive. Up till 3.18 am getting photos n apps. And Aarav just laughed out loud in his sleep. Now I'm smiling too.

Wish he sleeps thru night soon. Have put him to be 3 times tonight. Shubham has fallen asleep at the foot of the bed exhausted. Well, atleast we three are together even if cramped but smiling. Love them both.

Took Aarav out in stroller sitting first time today. He was mellow N drowsy but curious and, maybe a little scared of falling hehe.

Aha Moment

Aarav was sleeping in my lap i n the afternoon how he usually does. Gets up, looks around and I realize he's still sleepy. I lay him down and tussled his hair and he smiled as he closed his eyes and went back to sleep. He looked adorable !!

19th May 2011 - House and more

Last weekend we cleaned the house and went for Manju's daughter's party. Past three weeks have been crazy.

Mother's day ie the 1st May 2011  we signed the contract for the house. Shubham has been crazy busy at work still, though it's Kinda better these days though yesteday he came at 9.30 ( Aarav and I were at Jasleen's ).

Khushboo came home today. I was apprehensive about her coming since yesterday when I called her over, remembering how she blasted me over the phone last to last year but when she told me about her miscarraige I was so proud and happy that I gave her a second chance.

Round and round he goes for the first time when Emy came to visit. And after that the minute u turn ur back, he's in the other room. Now, that is 19th, the room is padded with blankets. :)

Haha Moment

Aarav woke up and I put him in the swing and I walked into the kitchen forgetting to put down the bar. Walked back into the room to see him sitting up totally in the swing, bending all over the bar trying to reach for somethign down. I shouted in horror " Aarav !! " Startled he looked up with an expression saying, " Look mama , what I can do. Come join me, why don't u ?! " :)))

And in a few minutes he realized that as he moved his bottom, the swing swung left and right, the swing moved so left and right he moved smiling at his lil achievement. :))

Had the gals evening out as Shub took care of him. Friday went to Samyukta's house for dinner where Aarav cried the whole time as the temperature had fallen and the house was full of people.

Sunday was Saachi's bday in the park. Aarav enjoyed looking everywhere and slept as I walked around the park " keeping " him asleep. :)) Everyone loves gushing over him.

Came home, had bhel and then ended up with cold the next morning due to lack of sleep ( 2 nights in a row ). Monday tuesday were miserable with cold. Shub stayed half day monday with us as I got 2,3 hours of sleep and then yesterday was our anniversary. Pics say it all. Just love Shub for taking off and giving Aarav and me a wonderful time.

Aarav going crazy behind the flowers was nice and the dinner at Texas De Brazil was FANTABULOUS.

10th April 2011 - Aarav's first visit to Park

Awesome outing in the evening. Went to Maymont park and then Barnes and Noble. Was just a nice day over all. Took great pics. Feeling suitably exhausted and relaxed. Have to get some books now. For Aarav and me.

Thursday -

My first outing with the gals - Emy,Shweta,Jasleen,Samyukta and their kids. The lunch at indian buffet was kinda dud as was the time we spent at home later ( mot of the time went in managing the kids ) but the evening with Emy andthen with shweta for dinner was nice change. Shubham, Cedrick n Vineet had gone for St.Patrick's day evening out.

Has been a hectic week over all.

Monday guys from pune office of sagitec came for gudi padva dinner for pav bhaji, puran, besan chillies and kheer.

Wednesday evening I went to library and got a ton of books while Shub was with Aarav. Later we got sandwiches from Firehouse Subs. Was nice.

Thursday pregnent shweta came with family for dinner of kadi, cabbage, palak paneer, besan mirchi, ras malai. Hiya came to kitchen saying " aunty, ther is something yummy in my nose " :))

All loved the food. Was nice working around Aarav's schedule. Got little used to doing things with him, asleep and awake. Friday evening went to Red Robin with the waitress saying Sorry for everything. Today morning after a lateeeeeeeeeeeee morning awake we went out for Vietnamese and had the food in leisure. Came home and Shubham re arranged the upstairs room while I played with Aarav and did the kitchen.

Spoke to Tracy yesterday about her Dubai/India trip with Rhea and God, made me thankful for all that I have. Shubham and the family I have now. Reminded me for the grumbling b*tch I am when I'm tired and sleepless. Shubham said in the night I should vent at him and just relax. God knows when I'll get to relax but then that's life !! Shubham is great in all other ways.

The weather is hot and cold and it's making us crazy. I'm scared Aarav will get a cold. Hopefully not !!

I'm so exhausted, I'm crying instead of sleeping. He'd gotten up every hour for feed. I need sleep. I tell myself he's gods gift but today has been specially hard after last nights restlessness.

I has dinner party today.

Yesterday went to library, babiesrus n got subs. Temp fell like crazy thru the evening. I hate the weather extremes. Right now I don't like much.

3rd April 2011 - Aarav Rolls Over

Saturday - Golden Coral , yuck and indian grocery shopping with some cleaning and cooking .

Sunday - Had Bhavneet, Jasleen, Emy, Cedrick and the kids over. Danny thru his regular tantrum and the evening flew by in food arrangements and pacifying aarav due to lack of sleep, as Shub had to put his jammies on when he was sleeping. Today he's learnt Onesies are an oufit in themselves.

Then as in the end as we gals tried to play iwth him on his tummy, when to pacify him I put him on his side, lo and behold he just rolled over. Just like that ... !! I've been trying to teach him since the past 4 days when I learnt was rolling over was ... I'm so proud of him. My jaan !! 

Haha Moment

Aarav was playing with his rattle and hitting it on his hand via his head, getting hurt each time. Lead to some crying when the pain surfaced. lolzz

3rd week after mom left

Aarav got his first viral. He was hot so gave him a bath n fan n by morning he was stuffed.

He cried all day saturday. The day was spent holding him, rocking him to sleep, keeping him tilted, cleaning his nose with saline n pump.

Gave him relirver n he puked first time. By morning he had fever n we left the party for 3 hours at the docs office.

A full week of nose cleaning n pampering bsby followed. It was so hard to see him so miserable. Broke my heart.

Holi went like that only. Hmmm... Nazar hi lag jaati hai.

Aarav slrpt at 4 am yesterday n got up off n on n on at 11 am. Played with him n then he slept all by himself an hor n half later only to gwt up as soon as my head hit thr pillow.

His dad slept with him from 3am onwards. Poor guy had no sleep.

India pakistan match today. The craze on fb is crazy. India won. blahh!

Aarav loves sittin up n playing with the ball, and lsughs lot when cloth falls on him. Hes getting tickling at nexk n tummy. LOVE his smile.

Feeling so guilty bout scolding him last night trying to get him to sleep.

Thank god for his dad's patirnce.

Spent day with the gals talking about labor,kids n cricket. Had kachori ,fruit cram n veg upma.

Made fish cutlets n now shub makign aarav laugh by dropping cloth from height... aarav is getting ticklish during massage too.

15th March 2011 - Took teether when offered

Baby's got a cold today so been sleeping pretty much all day. Whining coz of clogged nose.

When he wakes up, I clean his nose and play with him, showing him all the different teether ( mine and sunitas ) . The black and white handle with green clover and Sunita's twisty teether are the ones he likes best. He took them from me when I offered them to him. In fact, right now he's adorably holding one as he snores gently. Awww...

14th March 2011 - Shub massaged Aarav

Yesterday sucked big time in many ways. Got up on the wrong side of the bed and then kept falling the whole mronign.

Even my specs broke. Aarav caught onto my mood I guess and was grumpy most of the time. Evening took from 4.30 - 8 to cook cauliflower bhaji, daal, rice and chicken curry. Then shub came and we ran to walmart which was closed for optical.

Impromtu decision led us to CPK where we had the thai chicken salad and then had to take the pizzas 9 that also wrong order ) to go thanks to Aarav's crankiness. He CRIED all the way home and fell asleep when we entered. His consequent closed nose led for a restless night and lots of rocking by me.


Shub added a hand to mine as I massaged him for the first time and had a Ball doing it !!! :-)

Also, Sunita sent him a care package - 4 onesies, booties, a teether, set of baby spoons, a rattle.

13th March 2011

Spent the sat evening rearranging the bedrooms abck to how they should be. Now crib is next to my side of hte bed and the table is back in the ohter room with the mattresses and futon.

Sunday spent hte day at home having jalebis and omelette roti. Vijay samyukta visited in the evening, adoring Aarav and then we went to walmart where aarav didn't let us be ther efor even an hour but luckily we were done with shopping.

Sleeping better than before thanks to new setting. But not as much as one would love.

Was singing - Kabootar ja ja ja ... remix to aarav while holding his hands and dancing and he laughed out loud. The sweetest sound , sigh !!

Took a drive around Carytown and then had lunch at Red lobster.

Past week has been a struggle getting used to being without mom. Time flew with the 11 hours with Aarav, 4 hours of sleep and the remaining bathing/ fbing/ researching/ eating/ watching tv or TRYING to catch a wink !!

Gave Aarav Gripe water finally ( with Dad's consent ) and he's been puking out all milk leading to a mess that needs to loads of cleaning up. 

Filled out his scrap book. 

THINGS AARAV DOES - 3 mths+

Catches his feet and pulls them up really high.

Talks a lot looking at the mobile above the swing. ( started 9th March 2011 )
Lifts his head up high turning when you call to him when given tummy time.

Gets really happy when pick him up.
Smiles and teases while drinking milk, taking that much longer in the process.
Sucks his one hand (really hard) while pushing it in with the other.
Enjoys his massage ( afternoon ) and bath ( nighttime) tremendously. 
Drooling little little.
When I hold his hand he pulls it to his mouth to suck.
Shubham does car racing with him by pulling him around the house in his yellow rocker.
Hates it if he's alone in the room.
Sleeps with rolling and twinkle twinkle or Om Ganpataye.
Rubs his eyes and nose; looks to the right or yawns when sleepy.
Looks around when I call his name, maybe recognizing the tone.
Laughs in his sleep sometimes.
Has started playing by himself but makes grunting sounds when bored.
Tries to eat his swing belt.

8th March

Mom left. Cooked for a week, pooran poi, chapatis, bhunji daal, daal bhaji, palak paneer.

Dropped mom off in freezing temperatures. Hectic day, rupa baby shower, home seeing at avington, rained all evening and night and stopped when we came back home.

Before mom leaving aarav slept 6.30 am and then 9 then 1 pm .. OMG !!!

In motherhood, everyday has it's miracles.

Started a new phase of life today. Looking at houses to buy for ourselves. Though may be months or years even but it's something new to us. Was fun doing it with mom who of course got super excited. Took the Stylecraft homes tour.

Saw the Avington with it's Avery - 3 bedrooms on top, amazing foyer, huge closet space and open design. THe Beckyen with it's 1 master below and 4 bedrooms on top design whcih looked more like a dormitory than anything.

Then went to Townsend and saw the HUGE mansion like townhome with the loft like dinign and living and the optional foyer attached to the master bedroom design.

Then went to see the single family homes at the Townsend which was amazingly close to all the elementary, middle and high schools in the area. The design was okay but the rooms were spacious, the master bedroom / bath amazing. The outerroom was ideal to be converted to a guest room and the rest of the house had a decent layout. But the cost of the LOT that we would be buying might be a kinker !

After that we happened to go to near the Hamptons and saw the  " Ryan " townhomes of which the 3 bedroom was massive but kinda ridiculous (acc to me only) with it's 3 levels. The kitchen was a decent size but the 3 family rooms were kinda over the limit. Also, the entrance is not very impressive. The bedrooms and such were nice but then for 270 it was more than worth the price. The location of the Townhomes in general though isn't very good with it's out of the way ness.

Also saw the 3 bedroom, 1 storage room townhome in front of the above which i liked but mom and shub didn't so much. So that !!

Avery so far it is, but only if it has 4 bedrooms.

Aarav as always was surprisingly co operative for the 4hours we were out sleeping and not being much of a bother. Had quiznos since we were craving bland food , con't know how mom really liked it yet. Came home, had pudding, tea and roti and then dinner of kadi, chawal and bhindi made by mom. Now playing with aarav. Every thing that he does seems miraculous. Feeling an overwhelming sense of not believing that I'm a mom today for some reason.

24th Feb 2011 - Massaged first time

Massaged baby for the first time today. Shweta agarwal fell sick so sent her all the food mom made and we had pizza. Aarav had a very bad time in the night. I guess coz of gas and cold. SHubham got worried and called up his mom and dad and worried them too. They called back the next day asking for Aarav. When shub's dad called to him, he would smile but wouldn't talk being so listless. Nothing much else happening. Stayed up that night too, thanks to Aarav's last nights.

25th Feb 2011

Another sleepless night leading to total exhaustion. Got up at 11 and then just couldn't sleep. Cooked chicken and pudding in the evening. Aarav not in very good mood coz of his cold. Poor baby !! Kinda listless.

Shubham got up at 3 am and spent the rest of the night taking care of Aarav. Slept with him in his arms for the first time for almost two hours. Put nasal spray in his nose and rocked him to sleep. HE finally slept by 6.30 am but shubham still stayed awake the whole morning.

26th Feb 2011 - Found Feet

Aarav found his feet today. Playing with them. Coincidently while grocery shopping at walmart, got a cloth and sock rattles for him.

He had such a good time trying to remove them as they made sounds, was totally cute !

Morning went shopping with mom to Stony Point mall. Had lunch at P.F.Changs and got some jewellry from J.C.Penny and Dillards that looks smashing! First time in my life bought black stone set, albeit artificial - braclet, necklace and earrinngs.

Came home, played with Aarav, dancing with him on the songs on tv and sorted all my jewellry.

Shubham did research for a new mp3 player. That's why we went to walmart but ended up going doing grocery and baby shopping.

23rd Feb 2011

What a day it's been !! Slept all day today ie 24th. Why ?!

Aarav was AWAKE and I mean WIDE AWAKE all night last night. Thank God mom was here coz I gave up around 4 am and fell asleep and mom stayed awake with him till 6 am. He wanted to eat all night between 1 to 4 am. I was totally exhausted. Poor mom and me. Also Shub. We atleast got Some sleep. He's been at work all day

On the bright side, I tried my hand at making Sizzler at home and it turned out pretty good. Not very filling but I got the idea, sauce and sizzle right at least !!! :D

Shub came home only by 9.30 pm so was quite late. 

22nd Feb 2011

Went out for grocery last afternoon. Treated mom and me to pastry. Gave aarav as sponge bath. He hates the cold cloth ! :) Wakes him right up and gets him crying till he wears his clothes. Will start doing that from now on to try to keep him awake. The nights are getting longer. Slept at 4 am last night. I think the dosa meal didn't sit right with him. So wanted to sleep but kept waking up startled and crying after every feed which was after one or more hour later. Sigh !! I wish his tummy would settle soon. Hate to see him upset and we all need the sleep. Hmmmm :(

21st Feb 2011

Lazier day today. All were totally exhausted by morning. Shub made tea for us all before going to work. THen we chatted with vandana masi and dad. Should have slept instead.

Evening mom prepared sambar and stuff for dosa but the weather being supposedly good, we decided to go for thai instead. It was realy cold. Mom and I were too lightly dressed for the wind !! It was fun none the less coz the thai was amazing. Aarav slept exactly till we ate then got up for food himself. :)

The car stops and he starts crying. Car starts and he stars crying, but when the volume of music is high ( that also if he likes ), then he doesn't realize. Weird ! :-)

20th Feb 2011

Lazy morning with chat by mom. Then got dressed up and went for shweta's baby shower. Missed Aarav and mom. Wanted to take him but mom and shub said it's too crowded in the flu season. Sigh !!

Went home and fed him and came back to the party. People don't play games unless there is prize. Got back the raw materials for the games :) Shweta got a good surprise and the food was nice too. Had a few great laughs. Pics say it all.

Aarav was a good boy but after I came home got really fussy. His gas problem sucks big time. Slept only by 3 am. :(

His nights getting longer still. I hate it when I'm right ... sometimes !! ;-)

19th Feb 2011

Yesterday was half and half. Got up at 8 am itself after sleeping at 2 and then worked on the games for Shweta's baby shower.

Woke shubham up at 12 and then we went to Short pump mall for lunch and walked around a bit with Aarav before he got up crying, but didn't feed properly.

He went to sleep in the car and then we went for long drive on Rt 33 near Hamptons. I just love the USA countryside.

Came home and Aarav wouldn't stop crying but wouldn't feed either properly. :( He started playing then and fell asleep. We went out and got him a rocker sleepr for waistlevel and portable.

Came home and Aarav didn't eat anything. This was almost 8 hours, he not having food properly and this had us all worried. Who comes to rescue but his dad with info from the net. We removed his nosey with that pump and lo and behold Aarav had his tummy full and sleep too !

He slept finally at 2 and got up directly at 7.30 am.

18th Feb 2011 - Aarav spoke himself.

What a wonderful day it's been. Friday and shub's at home. Had lunch at Super King Buffet, which mom thankfully liked. Aarav got up screaming so had to cut lunch short and go feed him then come back. He slept as soon as the car started as always and slept thru the afternoon during which mom and me cleaned up the house for Sangeeta's visit in the evening. Shubham kept working.

The weather changed weirdly. Was HOT today, in the middle of winter. After everything was done, went out and got pics taken in the hawa hawa. Aarav's expressions are frozen as it's his first time out without cover or anything.

Sangeeta came and we had a great time with pakoras and chit chat. She got Aarav a blanket and soft toy and me a scented candle.

As the kids played, Aarav got up and excited and started talking all by himself. All oohs and ahs with expressions without any encouragement from me. It was amazing.

Then after they left Aarav got fussy and wouldn't stop crying when not played with. I picked up the bouncer as shubham does and moved it around a bit and he would stop and then mom put him in swing. Would stop crying intermittently.

Mom and I were also getting bad mood coz the heat was getting to us. Took him up and when Aarav would pick up the bouncer and walk Aarv would stop crying. This went on for some time , which shubham saying  " THodi der tum royo, thodi der main. " In 15 mins, shubham realized something is wrong when aarav just wants to move. He put him in front of fan and Aarav stopped crying completely. Wow !!!

Whole night we all froze with the fan on as Aarav wouldn't let the fan shut off.

In the night, got the news that Sandy gave birth to a baby gal! Totally happy with that. :)

17th Feb 2011

Shub's been sick but is now much much better. Took a couple of days leave and now is working from home. Aarav is his adorable self. Didn't speak a word 14,15 but yesterday night as we watching Prince of Persia, he was talking dime a dozen. It's adorable hearing his aah, ooh, making a diff expression each time. Too bad he's camera shy and stops each time the camera comes on. Sting operation doesn't work either.

It's been so much fun sleeping with mom( except for her kharaates :p ). We get up each morning, lazily ( since shub doesn't have to go to work and no one needs tea since dad's not here ) talk and then I go to sleep by 7 or 8 and sleep till 10 while she takes care of Aarav.

Aarav's sleeping cycle is changing again, it seems. THough I hope not coz that means by the time mom leaves he's be back to staying awake all night.

Last evening we saw Live Free for the upteenth time and saw Prince of Persia and had dominoes pizza which thankfully mom loved :D hehehe... Thin cheese and peproni pizza and thik crust veggi. Awesome !!

Aarav stayed awake till 3 am, wide awake. Finally rocked him to sleep then tied him up and he got up by 6 and then again at 7.30. LIke I said his sleep cycle is changing...

Today I got out shub's mom's chaandi raatle for him and his gold and black braclets. He looks so cute. :D Cleaned up the hosue today, vaccumed and cleared out the mattress from the centre of hte living room. House seems to be getting bck to normal, somewhat ...

Aarav vas VERY naughty last night, btw. Slept at 12.30 and got up directly at 6. Scared the beejeezes out of me at 4.30 when I got up to check why he hadn't gotten up yet... :( But all was well ... Thankfully !! 

Valetine's day. Last year shub had boycotted valentines day. THis time valentines day boycotted him.

Poor shubham fell sick with the cold and flu. Slight fever. Stayed home. Made chicken paneer matter for lunch and in the evning mom made kadi chawal. I made tiny brownies and decorated it with strawberries and choc syrup.

Mom and I had a nice day watching No one killed Jessica and Guzaarish. No one was really good. Guzaarish so so. Shub spent most of the day sleeping. I was happy I could pamper him for a change else it's usually me sick. Aarav wasn't too well either so the day passed in a flash !!

Did the portrait photo shoot which wasn't as easy as we thought it would be. Got some good photos out of it so it was all worth it. Money saved 150 + hehehe

Then went all the way to washington with Aarav to drop dad and back. Baby co operated by sleeping all the way there and most of the way back. Such a darling !!!

He woke up mid way, had milk n went right ack to sleep. Came home and made maggi and chicken clear soup for shubham's increasing cold !!

Went to Vijay's house today and Aarav LOvEd the stool of the semi rocking chair. Lay on it and looked at the chandelier and made AWESOME, LOUD noises. Would be playing but if anyone other than me would come into the line of sight, would stop. Then when they would leave, would look at me, smile and start shouting at the light above again. So cute !!




Later, after crying for sleep and hunger and burp respectivel, sat in the car and quieted down. Held my hand tight, stared at me as I talked to him then just before dozing off gave the Sweetest smile while a last tear lingered in his eye, that I welled up. It was such a reassuring smile from a baby who is yet to unerstand the world.

4 injections and one drop assaulted my poor baby today. Thankfully he just suffered from a little body ache after, and slept thru it to the evening. In the evening, made wedges' sadwiches for mom and dad. Sausage for shub and tomatoes to mom and dad. Mom LOVED them. < TING !! >

Morning had been bad with masala nagging but the day went in worry for Aarav. These days I can't sleep after 4 am feed. Get hungry and awake and thus I'm exhausted now I guess ...

Yesterday - Morning was spent roaming at Stony Point mall lookin at dogs and pulling mom from the Dillards and Saks jewellry cases ... P.F.Changs later was a hit but the crying of baby was too bad. Learnt a big lesson. Never to take his hunger for granted and to carry caps every where !! Sigh ... Evning was filmfare and poha time.

Aarav was much better in the evning. Played with him. Blew on his face and he laughes and then talks then slumps and then I blow again. My red top is attracting his attention everywhere. Looking at him smile seems to be  al I live for these days ... Dad keeps him in his lap facing forward and he tries to run away from it all by himself ... ROCKING !!

Love his expressions ... love him totally ... he looks more like shub everywhere... pray that he becomes like him also ... with a little of me thrown in ofcourse :D

Friday - Was out most of the day. Morning was at Emy's place to discuss baby shower. And Then doc's appointment. Have come down from 210 to 186. Lets hope that keeps coming down. Aarav wasn't in a very good mood but in the night saw me or atleast it felt like he SAW me and started playing and having fun !! :-) Feels like he recognizes me now.

Baby shower discussion was funny. So far am making idli and planning the games. Manju said while rotating her neck, first say whose bringing the pita breads for Jasleen's chole. Was hilarious. Was fun but whole day was missing Aarav while I was out. Emy and Danny came home after accompanying me to doctore and stayed till I got up to drop them back. Put a kink in plans but good didn't do much of else coz by end of day I was Exhausted and slept to all else.

Today - GOt up planning to go to Diner but ended up at Ethiopian. Aarav so hates the car seat and breaks my heart to put him there but it's for safety. Was nice food. Aarav got fussy in the end but it was hungry then gas then car seat fear. Dad had Samboosas ;)) and mom didn't like the food too much I guess but that was expected as always.

Aarav's eyes kept getting big under each tunnel. Was hilarious and so cute !! His fear reflets in his big eyes and raised eye brows. Poor thing.

MOm took him as usual to sleep so that I could rest. When he got up, I fed him and put him to sleep right next to me for the first time. No special things down, no blanket. Just my arms, my blanket, me and shubham next to him. Couldn't sleep for the rest of the evening coz I spent the rest of the time just looking at his lovely face. Sigh !!

Mom and Dad are all lets do this for aarav, lets do that. My God !! Such suggestions. They both keep him with them as much as possible, just like shubhams mom did when she was here. Such greed of grandparents!

Chicken Baati today. Learnt to make somewhat. Aaloo subzi made birbal style thanks to mom.

Aarav seems to have started to recognize me. When he's hungry and I go in front, starts crying immediately. Today got angry with mom when she was massaging him and then wiped him. He doesn't like soaked clothat ALL. Dad is really happy that he quieted down immediately when he held him. Sometimes seems like he does chugli of one person to other.

Held him sleep in the evning. Smiling/laughing in sleep and then crying awake and I'd rock him back.

Afternoon had gone to get grocery and chicken. Found the store by myself. Was very close.

Yesterday and day before slept early by 11/12. So tired these days. Mom and dad wake me up when he's hungry and I feed him. Feel so guilty keeping him with them but that's the only way I get any rest. Keep him in my arms anyway during the day which is why I get tired by the day end.

After early morning 10 am ,ish feed brings the most angelic smiles I've ever seen. I crave those every morning now. So addicted !! Love him to bits...

The baby shower fiasco happened today . Let's see what happens tomorrow. Have the shower meeting with the ladies and my appointment at 2 pm.

Weekend had a lot of crying by aarav. Sat saw our first visit to temple as a family. then walmart where aarav got d fussy n that went onto eveng which stopped only after the exhausted feed. then we all saw movie payback. i got really tired. shub let me sleep and we got up at 3 - 4.when.i.discovered that all my msgs to shub have been saved as well. v romantic. :)

sunday had pizza n went to v.c.mall where we had our first uninterrupted aarav sleeping visit. mom bought jewellry n shub got shirts n we walked all around the mall to get to car at 7. came home n aarav cried n cried first for milk then heat then burp then diaper then just BECOZ... HEHEHEHE. Shub finally took him n he fell asleep with ma. Saw the movie RED.

Aarav takes his hands up, around n into his mouth n then suck, suck :)). Gets a slight whack by me n a loud noise either one stops him but the whack brings a smile coz he knows we'll play after. smart alec!!

decided the lic yesterday. v morbid n depressing. May God keep our family safe always.

Yesterday mom made besan, bhunji daal, bhindi, all my fav with rice. Shubham had for the first time besan and I think enjoyed it.

Went to macys to see the saphire ring but next to the one we just bought, nothing seems worth it. Seems like nothing we like comes for less than 500 !! Expensive tastes. :-0

Today morning got up to loud laughter and thought ot call Emy home for a chat. Got up, knock on the door and there were the two. Had a nice time chatting. Aarav had a lovely time gossiping as well. :-) Shubham made orange juice for dad.

Am craving pineapple pizza and masal chicken with naan ... Sigh !! Hope to go out tomorrow and satisfy one of the two. :-)) Spent the whole morning cleaning filter, clothes, and re arranging things. After the cupboard , now have to do the saris and storage room on top. Sigh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Special day yesterday. Got my first piece of jewellry from hubby. Such an expensive buy for the first time, felt like I'd stolen something .. hehehe

Aarav was quite fussy in the afternoon, feeding every 1.5 hour and not sleeping. Snowed last night. We went outi n the snow to Jared. Was amazing buying jewellry.

Took lot of videos in the night when aarav was in a good mood. He was trying to talk in his own way. Swaddling him feels like punishing him but he seems to really enjoy it.

Yesterday went shopping for mom's sweaters. Then did window shopping of rings - saphire and diamond :D and had lunch of subway, chinese and sbarro.

Came home, and went to Ross to get comforter set, diapers and such. Came home for an hour , went to malabar and had Xtremely HOT biryani, fish curry and kal dosa with chicken. After which we went to Melting pot and laughed about the forks. Needlessly, endlessly. Came home and saw pics.

Aarav was co orperative as can be in the mall. Cried on our way out and cooled down at home. Slept threw lunch, dinner and desert, which was sweet of him.

He's learning peek a boo slowly. Sucks his hand when doesn't get attention. Had swaddled hi in his red sheeand he removed a hand. t Nights he gave lil less trouble but afternoon is hard when he wakes upas soon as I  put him down.

Seeing him smile his toothless smile and talk his wordless talk is priceless.
